Fiberglass Doors Installation Project in Kelowna, BC

Despite the fact that most of the real estate in Kelowna is relatively new, Canadian weather impacts it a lot. Especially increased humidity from Okanagan Lake. The HTR Windows and Doors team recently had the pleasure of participating in a complete door renovation of a detached house.

Doors that protect your home’s comfort for years

Our client’s house needed an immediate upgrade. The house shrink a bit, due to soil movement. It is a normal phenomenon, but sometimes it affects the interior of the house. Doors in the clients’ houses stopped closing because their frames slumped. Entrance door lock became a victim of freeze-thaw cycles and started to jam.

The HTR team is always happy to help. We replaced all the old wooden doors with new fiberglass ones. Client chose a beautiful hickory colour for them and a light brown colour for the entrance door. Our installation crew paid special attention to the new entrance door since it included sleek glass panels. We ensured a secure and lasting fit since we used the latest sealing technologies. New doors perfectly complement existing house exterior and interior style, while adding the fresh and stylish look and increasing curb appeal.

The noticeable difference

Our client was a man of a culture. He had a vintage family piano, a family heirloom, that started losing sound and look due to the disturbed internal climate of the house. The HTR team also replaced the bay window to secure a consistent interior environment. We installed a new double-glazed window with a special glass coating.

To increase security and energy efficiency we not only used top-quality sealants but also fusion welded throughout all frame and sash corners. With new doors and windows, our client reduced his electricity bills and increased thermal insulation of the house. As a bonus, multiple-chamber frames and sashes guarantee excellent soundproofing and security. So now our satisfied clients can enjoy music without any disturbances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before deciding to get a windows replacement, there might be some things you’re unsure about. Our specialists answered some of the most frequent questions they get before starting windows and doors replacement and installation projects.

Common signs include increased energy bills, difficulty opening or closing windows, drafts around the window frames, condensation between panes, and noticeable damage to the frame or glass.
Yes, it is a normal situation. Especially in old windows that are constantly used, air and water leaks occur over time. But even expensive and high-quality windows let some water through. This is due to the construction of the windows – they are equipped with drainage holes, through which the water inside can drain away. Regardless of how well the windows are constructed, a functional window will inevitably retain some water after a heavy rain or as a result of heavy condensation. The difference between bad and good windows is that the bad windows let the water inside the house, while well-designed windows direct the water away from the wall.
Condensation usually occurs when warm air inside the house meets the colder surface of the window. It occurs more commonly in poorly ventilated areas with high humidity. Also, damaged seals on double-pane windows can cause condensation between the panes.
Mold, poor air quality, damaged window panes and poor insulation are only a few reasons why condensation on windows should be addressed properly.
Most windows can experience condensation under certain conditions, especially in areas with high humidity or significant temperature differences. However, well-insulated and properly installed windows should minimize condensation issues.
Make sure your windows are well-sealed and insulated. If condensation persists, contact us to upgrade to better-insulated windows.
