Casement Windows Replacement Project in Toronto, ON

HTR Windows and Doors team recently completed a unique project in the older part of Toronto. The main challenge was to preserve the historic character of the house, while making its windows draft-free and doors more secure.

Comfort and energy-efficiency combined

The original windows started losing heat and this led to increased energy bills. But it’s not always about the money. Due to high humidity levels, black mold appeared. It is extremely dangerous for health. Luckily, our team knows how to solve problems like that.

Equipped with vast experience, top-quality windows and latest technologies, we replaced 5 casement windows, including a bow window in the living room. To save the charm of the home and add a bit of modern touch, we offered to install triple-glazed windows that are black outside and white inside. Homeowners absolutely loved this idea.

Door installation process with attention to details

When we finished the window installation project, our clients decided to replace doors as well so they will match their new windows. Our HTR team in Toronto also installed a patio door and entrance door with a little pleasant addition cat door, for the family’s beloved pet.

HTR experienced door replacement contractors carefully inspected door and window frames before installation. They were quite old and worn out, which added to the challenge. But our team was undeterred by the challenge. We ensure energy-efficiency and top performance that lasts lifetime in every installation. All our products are equipped with premium heavy duty hardware.

Our installers strictly adhere to local building regulations and polish every installation with the special seal. We guarantee increased security from potential break-ins and lowered energy bills. That’s exactly why our clients love our window installation and replacement services. We don’t give empty promises and always reach complete clients satisfaction.

Our project in Toronto is a great example. After the windows and doors replacement, homeowners bills cut in two and the family stopped getting flu every season because of the drafts, as well as allergy attacks stopped when black mold disappeared.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before deciding to get a windows replacement, there might be some things you’re unsure about. Our specialists answered some of the most frequent questions they get before starting windows and doors replacement and installation projects.

Common signs include increased energy bills, difficulty opening or closing windows, drafts around the window frames, condensation between panes, and noticeable damage to the frame or glass.
Yes, it is a normal situation. Especially in old windows that are constantly used, air and water leaks occur over time. But even expensive and high-quality windows let some water through. This is due to the construction of the windows – they are equipped with drainage holes, through which the water inside can drain away. Regardless of how well the windows are constructed, a functional window will inevitably retain some water after a heavy rain or as a result of heavy condensation. The difference between bad and good windows is that the bad windows let the water inside the house, while well-designed windows direct the water away from the wall.
Condensation usually occurs when warm air inside the house meets the colder surface of the window. It occurs more commonly in poorly ventilated areas with high humidity. Also, damaged seals on double-pane windows can cause condensation between the panes.
Mold, poor air quality, damaged window panes and poor insulation are only a few reasons why condensation on windows should be addressed properly.
Most windows can experience condensation under certain conditions, especially in areas with high humidity or significant temperature differences. However, well-insulated and properly installed windows should minimize condensation issues.
Make sure your windows are well-sealed and insulated. If condensation persists, contact us to upgrade to better-insulated windows.
